What is Liberation Family Services?
Liberation Family Services (LFS) is an Africentric enterprise, organized to provide services to extend the whole of the African American experience. Organized in October 2014, Liberation Family Services’ vision is to create a community of services designed specifically to enrich Americans whose African ancestors were men and women brought to America and enslaved (US) during the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Acknowledging the “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome,” the internalized shadows manifested in the multi-layered difficulties that Black Americans contend with daily, Liberation Family Services is a membership driven, and thus, a self-empowering organization that will (in its most mature development) provide the following services: educational, therapeutic, cultural, spiritual, physical, emotional and mental, socio-political, and economic/financial.
